Unishell Cap FOB Price 2026: USD 0.07 per Piece from 100,000 PCS (38/400, 45/400, 53/400)
Official 2026 FOB Quotation | 21 Patents | WISCO-Nippon Steel Tinplate | ISO 9001 & TUV Verified | PPWR-Ready for 12 August 2026
1. The Number That Matters: USD 0.07 per Piece at 100,000 PCS
Volume buyers do not decide a project on a 10,000-piece trial price. They decide it on the price they will pay every month for the next two years. So we are putting that number first instead of burying it under a request-a-quote form. For orders of 100,000 pieces and above, our 2026 FOB price for a liner-included, silver or gold finished unishell cap is USD 0.07 for 38/400, USD 0.09 for 45/400 and USD 0.10 for 53/400.
These are the standard internally threaded metal closures used across food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and personal care packaging, and each price already includes a food-grade sealing liner matched to your product and filling line. The phrase that matters most in that sentence is liner-included: on many quotations the cap looks cheap until you add the liner, the finishing premium and the tooling charge. Ours are quoted as a finished, ready-to-run closure.

It is worth seeing what volume actually buys you. At the 10,000-piece tier the same three caps are USD 0.09, USD 0.11 and USD 0.12. Moving from 10,000 to 100,000 pieces therefore cuts the unit price by 22.2% on the 38/400, by 18.2% on the 45/400 and by 16.7% on the 53/400. In absolute terms the arithmetic is unusually easy to remember: whichever of the three diameters you choose, the step up to 100,000 pieces saves you USD 2,000 on every 100,000 caps. A 100,000-piece order is USD 7,000 for the 38/400, USD 9,000 for the 45/400 and USD 10,000 for the 53/400 - at the factory gate in China, before freight and import duties.
2. What Is Actually Inside the USD 0.07
A unit price is only comparable when you know what it contains. Every price in this article covers the following, with no hidden line items added afterwards:
- A food-grade sealing liner, in pressure-sensitive (PS), polyethylene (PE), paper or induction heat-seal (IHS) construction, selected against your product chemistry, filling temperature and torque specification.
- A silver or gold lacquer finish on the tinplate shell. Both finishes sit at the same price for the 38/400, 45/400 and 53/400 sizes.
- An internally threaded tinplate closure formed to a controlled internal thread tolerance of plus or minus 0.1 mm.
- Export packing on pallets, and the standard export documentation set: certificate of analysis, declaration of conformity and food-contact statement.
Not included, and quoted separately when you need them: ocean freight, insurance and import duties, which depend on your port and your country's tariff treatment. The commercial terms section below sets out exactly what the FOB basis covers.
3. Why We Can Hold USD 0.07 at 100,000 PCS
A price this low is only credible if the cost structure behind it explains it. Ours comes from three things we have built over years rather than from cutting material or skipping inspection steps.
3.1 Twenty-One Patents Remove Cost, Not Quality
We hold 21 granted patents covering precision manufacturing, intelligent automation and higher-value closure designs. They include intelligent stamping dies (ZL 2023 2 3287198.X), internal-thread machining equipment for metal caps, curling pre-treatment devices and automated stamping lines, alongside product patents such as a radiation-shielding double-seal bottle and a tin-aluminium combination cap.
Owning the tooling design has a direct commercial consequence. We control strip layout ourselves, so we use less tinplate per cap and generate less scrap. We do not pay third-party licence fees on the forming process. And because the die geometry is designed around the same thread standard, a change of diameter does not trigger a complete retooling cycle. That is cost taken out of the process, not out of the material.
3.2 Centralised Production Means One Cost Chain
Stamping, coating and finishing, liner insertion and final inspection all happen at one site in Lin'an, Hangzhou. Nothing is trucked between subcontractors, which removes three costs that normally sit inside a closure price: transport between plants, a second margin for the intermediate supplier, and the quality losses that appear whenever a half-finished cap changes hands. It also means a single quality record follows a batch from coil to carton, which is the version of quality control that survives an audit.
3.3 High Automation and 250,000 Pieces per Day
The commercial terms on our quotation state a capacity of 250,000 pieces per day, running on automated stamping lines. At 100,000-piece order quantities, labour per piece is the largest variable in the cost of a cap, and it is the one that automation removes most effectively. A stable, high-throughput line also produces a more consistent cap: the same die, the same strip tension and the same cycle time from the first carton to the last, so the hundred-thousandth cap is dimensionally the same as the first. This is the structural reason we can hold a low unit price at volume without the quality drift that usually comes with it.
4. Raw Material: Tinplate from WISCO-Nippon Steel Tinplate (Wuhan)
The other half of the answer is what the cap is made from. Our unishell caps are produced from tinplate supplied by WISCO-Nippon Steel Tinplate Co., Ltd. - in Chinese, Wugang Rities (Wuhan) Duxiban Co., Ltd. - a 50/50 joint venture between WISCO Group of China Baowu and Nippon Steel of Japan, established in 2011 in the Qingshan District of Wuhan, whose business is the production and sale of tinplate and tinplate base sheet.
Naming the mill is not decoration. Tinplate is a coated product, and the three properties that decide whether a closure works are all set at the mill rather than at the cap press:
- Strip thickness consistency. A coil with thickness drift forms threads with varying depth, and a cap that seals on one pallet may leak on the next. Uniform gauge is what makes a plus or minus 0.1 mm internal thread tolerance achievable at 250,000 pieces a day.
- Tin coating weight control. Consistent coating is what protects the steel underneath from the product and keeps the appearance stable across a long production run in silver or gold finish.
- Surface quality and flatness. A uniform, low-roughness surface is what lets lacquer and print adhere properly, and what keeps the curl geometry regular so the cap seats squarely on the bottle neck.
In practice, brand-name material from a Japanese-Chinese joint venture shows up on your filling line as fewer jammed caps, fewer torque failures and fewer sealing complaints - and it gives your own quality team a traceable, nameable raw material source when you are asked to document where a component comes from.
There is a commercial point here too. Buyers who have tried the cheapest available tinplate know what the saving looks like six months later, when a container of caps arrives with inconsistent curl geometry and the whole batch has to be sorted by hand. Paying a small premium upstream, absorbed by our production volume, is what keeps the downstream cost low.
5. The Full 2026 Official Price List
The table below is the complete 2026 FOB quotation, covering the three high-volume diameters as well as the 58/400 and 70/400 sizes. The 58/400 and 70/400 closures are quoted by pallet, which is why their quantity bands are stated in pallet multiples rather than round thousands.

6. Commercial Terms You Can Plan Around
Term |
2026 Quotation |
Price basis |
FOB Shanghai / Ningbo Port |
Production capacity |
250,000 pcs/day (mass production ready) |
Payment |
30% T/T deposit, 70% balance before shipment |
Lead time |
21-35 days after receipt of the 30% deposit |
Offer validity |
30 days from issue date |

Silver or gold, with sealing liner |
Three of these terms are worth reading twice. The 250,000 pieces per day capacity means a 100,000-piece order is not a special project for our line - it is a couple of shifts, which is why the 21 to 35 day lead time holds even when several customers order in the same month. The 30% deposit structure keeps the working-capital requirement on your side low while the order is in production. And the 30-day validity is there for a practical reason: tinplate and liner prices move, so a price we can hold today is a price we would rather confirm against a firm purchase order than leave open indefinitely.
If your team needs to budget the delivered cost rather than the factory-gate cost, we can quote CIF or DDP alternatives on request for your destination port, so that freight and duty sit alongside the unit price in the same document.
7. The Compliance Package Behind the Price
Cheap caps become expensive when a compliance document is missing at the port. Every quotation above is backed by the same documentation set: ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, a TUV Rheinland factory audit, and third-party test reports on closures and liners covering FDA 21 CFR 175.300 food-contact requirements, REACH SVHC screening and RoHS.
For European buyers specifically, the materials and liners are assessed against EU Regulation 10/2011 for plastic food-contact materials and EU Regulation 2024/3190 for bisphenol restrictions, and we are preparing the declaration set for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 ahead of its application date of 12 August 2026. We are registered for German packaging EPR under LUCID (DE1853254565231) and operate in France through an authorised representative, Synertrade FR SAS, with French EPR registration UIN FR535332_01OYDP.
8. How to Turn This Price Into a Running Filling Line
A price becomes useful only when the cap actually seals. The fastest route is to send us four things: the bottle neck finish drawing, the product type, the filling temperature and your target application torque. With those, we match the closure and the liner construction rather than guessing, and we send a sample box covering the diameters you are evaluating - the same material and the same liner specification as the production run, not a hand-made mock-up.
If the liner is pressure-sensitive, allow the industry-standard 24-hour cure after tightening before you run the leak and removal-torque tests. This single step resolves most of the sealing complaints that reach manufacturers as "your cap leaks", when the real cause is a torque or cure-timing issue on the line. Once your trial passes, the price in this article is what goes into the purchase order.
9. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the FOB price of a 38/400 unishell cap in 2026?
USD 0.07 per piece for orders of 100,000 pieces or more, USD 0.08 per piece from 50,000 pieces and USD 0.09 per piece from 10,000 pieces. The price is FOB Shanghai / Ningbo and includes the sealing liner and a silver or gold finish.
Do these prices include the sealing liner?
Yes. Every price in the 2026 quotation is for a finished cap with a food-grade liner already inserted - pressure-sensitive (PS), polyethylene (PE), paper or induction heat-seal (IHS), selected to match your product and filling line.
What is the minimum order quantity for unishell caps?
For the 38/400, 45/400 and 53/400 sizes the quotation starts at 10,000 pieces. The 58/400 and 70/400 closures are quoted per pallet: 43,120 pieces (one pallet) and 86,240 pieces (two pallets) for the 58/400, and 29,120 pieces (one pallet) and 58,240 pieces (two pallets) for the 70/400.
Are silver and gold finishes priced differently?
No. For the 38/400, 45/400 and 53/400 sizes, silver and gold finishes are both included at the listed unit price.
Which tinplate do you use for unishell caps?
We use tinplate from WISCO-Nippon Steel Tinplate Co., Ltd. (Wuhan), a 50/50 joint venture between WISCO Group of China Baowu and Nippon Steel of Japan. Consistent strip thickness and tin coating weight are what allow us to hold a plus or minus 0.1 mm internal thread tolerance in high-volume production.
How much does the 100,000-piece tier save compared with 10,000 pieces?
The unit price falls by 22.2% on the 38/400 (USD 0.09 to USD 0.07), by 18.2% on the 45/400 (USD 0.11 to USD 0.09) and by 16.7% on the 53/400 (USD 0.12 to USD 0.10). In absolute terms, every size saves USD 2,000 per 100,000 caps.
What are the payment and lead-time terms?
Payment is 30% T/T deposit with the 70% balance before shipment. Lead time is 21-35 days after receipt of the deposit, with a production capacity of 250,000 pieces per day.
Can you deliver 100,000 pieces within one month?
Yes. At 250,000 pieces per day of capacity, a 100,000-piece order represents well under one day of line output; the 21-35 day lead time covers material staging, production, inspection and export packing.
What certifications and test reports come with the caps?
ISO 9001:2015 certification, a TUV Rheinland factory audit, and third-party reports covering FDA 21 CFR 175.300 food contact, REACH SVHC and RoHS on both closures and liners. For the EU we also work to Regulation 10/2011 and Regulation 2024/3190, and we are preparing PPWR (EU) 2025/40 documentation for the 12 August 2026 application date.
How long is the quotation valid and how do I lock the price?
The quotation is valid for 30 days from its issue date. To lock it, send your neck finish drawing, the quantity band you are ordering and your destination port, and we will issue a proforma invoice at the price in this article.
